A Day In the Life: Data Scientist
In this webinar on 11/18/2020 sponsored by Thinkful, I learned about the logistical nature of the Data Scientist role. The presenter, who is currently a data scientist, went over the importance of being able to ingest big data and use it in a meaningful way to turn it into value. She went over the “data ecosystem” that illustrates all of the relevant parties involved in the creation of insights from data. In addition to the background information on what a data scientist actually does, the presenter went over the pros and cons of the job. It was very useful to me because I was interested in learning more about the position, and she did a good job of previewing what a data scientist actually does.
