AWS Women of the Cloud Event
I attended the Women of the Cloud event sponsored by Amazon Web Services. It consisted of keynote speakers on various topics, panels, and a breakout session where we chose an aspect of business that we struggled with. The main things I learned from this event are what companies look for in an applicant and how to build business relationships. One of the main pieces of information that stuck with me was using an Excel spreadsheet to keep up with business contact where we have categories for names, where we met, etc. I also learned to be as persistent with communication as possible. Overall, I learned that it is not a bad thing or embarrassing to ask to talk to people in the industry.
