bid

In fall 2012, I made one of the best decisions I could ever make. I accepted a bid from the Delta Nu Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing organization on Temple’s campus. Along with having the pleasure of meeting over 170 outstanding women, including current members and alumni, ΔΦΕ has helped me become more involved around campus and within our three philanthropies. Our philanthropies include the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF), Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD), the DPHIE Eucation Foundation, and the Philly Police Survivor Fund. My first role withing the organization was the Director of Finance. As DOF I handled everyday finances, manage a $50,000 budget, and develop policies, and financial plans to maintain structure within the organization. After working hard as DOF, I was elected Vice President of Operations. Holding this role I oversaw all financial, risk management, website management, and administrative duties within the organization. I also developed policies, investments, and financial plans to maintain the structure of the organization. Finally, after serving my term of VPO, I was elected President. As president, I oversee all aspects of the organization including member well being, civic engagement, community involvement, scholarship and academic development, membership development, and chapter management. Additionally, I delegate tasks to 6 members of the leadership team regarding administrative duties, philanthropic planning, membership recruitment, membership development, academic planning, and positive membership morale. As president I also strive to maintain positive relationships with Temple University, Temple University Greek Association, Temple University Panhellenic Association, Delta Phi Epsilon International Headquarters, 6 local Delta Phi Epsilon Chapters, and 200 chapter alumnae. My growth through Delta Phi Epsilon has contributed to the woman I am today. It has taught me so many valuable life skills. Delta Phi Epsilon has made a large impact on my life over the past three years, and I am confident it will continue to positively affect my life even when I become an alumna member following my graduation. One interesting fact about ΔΦΕ is that our mascot is the unicorn!

Dance has been a hobby of mine since I was 3 years old. I started with ballet and advanced to pointe at age 11. At age 13 I started expanding my dance knowledge and started taking hip hop classes. I have performed in countless ensembles over  my 16 years dance career. Most of my dance education was from The Performing Arts Center located in Conyngham, Pennsylvania. Although I am no longer taking formal classes, I try to stay involved with dance as much as I can. Dance is more than a hobby to me, it is a passion and a way for me to escape reality for a short amount of time.
