Career Goals

As an accounting major with a possible MIS minor, still undecided, my immediate goals following college would be to start training for my CPA certification and eventually pass all sections of the exam.  I would like to gain many years of experience in different fields such as private accounting and auditing, hopefully opening my own firm somewhere down the line. Along my career path I would like to refine my skills in public speaking, team work, all aspects of accounting, and leadership. There are many different opportunities for a career in accounting with an MIS background and I would like to explore as many of them as I can throughout my career.

I have found from my class experiences that I have gained an interest in courses such as business ethics, risk management, accounting, and business communications. All of these classes got me very excited to give different industries and experiences a chance for a career. Ultimately I would my dream industry for accounting would be either the music or athletic industry, but I am very excited to get out and make my impact in the work force.
