MIS 2501 SharePoint Flash Paper

Our company has the opportunity to increase revenue by investing in SharePoint to keep up with our rapidly growing consulting firm. SharePoint provides a collaborative server environment for sharing documents and data across organizations. SharePoint can not only be utilized to stay in constant contact with our clients, but it will also provide us with a net benefit of $2,454,000 over the next three years.

SharePoint is a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from any device. The key capabilities of SharePoint is that it will help make our firm more effective by making decisions faster and staying in contact with clients. For example, our Marketing and IT teams will now be able to collaborate on a document due to the collaborative server environment. This investment is compelling because with our firm rapidly growing and spending too much time managing documents, SharePoint will increase the productivity of our team and increase revenues.

By investing in SharePoint, it will have a three-year cost of $7,875,000 involving the purchase of hardware and software, as well as annual maintenance. Investing in this method will give us a three-year benefit of $10,329,000 due to the cost avoidance involving purchase and maintenance. Over the next three years, the net benefit of investing in SharePoint to minimize costs will be $2,454,000.
