Temple University’s motto is Perseverance Conquers, and we will meet the challenges of the COVID pandemic with flexibility and resilience. The university has made plans for multiple eventualities. Working together as a community to deliver a meaningful learning experience is a responsibility we all share, we’re in this together so we can be together.
You’ll find information about Temple’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and our university wide efforts, as well as responses to frequently asked questions at the following link: https://www.temple.edu/coronavirus.
Attendance is a serious matter and to achieve course learning goals, students must attend and participate in classes, according to your instructors’ requirements (*see Course Requirements). However, if you are under quarantine or in isolation because you have been exposed to COVID-19 or tested positive for it, you should not come to campus or attend in-person classes or activities. It is the student’s responsibility to contact their instructors to create a plan for participation and engagement in the course as soon as they are able to do so, and to make a plan to complete all assignments in a timely fashion, when illness delays their completion.
If you used a Covid home test, you must visit this URL https://shs-portal.temple.edu/login.aspx and follow the instructions there. After you take action there, you will get an automated “guidance” email from student health services. Forward that to email to your instructors, and we will accept that as documentation in lieu of a doctor’s note.
Make sure you review canvas, our course site, complete the required readings/videos and review the weekly discussion slides. Please be sure to connect with your classmates to catch-up on what you miss too (we do not have class captures).
