MIS stands for Management Information Systems. It is used in the world of business to solve problems. In MIS we use technology to solve day-to-day problems. Systems are comprised of three separate entities – people, processes, and technology. Information Technology has made a huge impact on how businesses operate, whether in business-to-business interactions or business-to-consumer interactions. An example of how IT impacted B-2-B interactions is through supply chain. A mechanic can order a part from a supplier completely virtually. The mechanic can submit a order request to the supplier, the supplier can rather fulfill the request or not, and then they can send the part to the mechanic through a delivery medium. The interaction is similar for B-2-C interaction. The swim lanes we learned to draw in class can much more concisely describe the process compared to my text explanation. These systems also pose a great asset for businesses – data. Data can be used by business in so many facets it would take its own separate blog to scratch the surface.

Hi Angelo, this is a great post! You have a solid example and good explanations. I think it would be helpful if you give an example of a B-2-C interaction for comparison with the B-2-B example. The post could also benefit from some organization, i.e. separating ideas into paragraphs. Great job overall!
