Week 3.
1.) An ERD (Entity-Relationship Diagram) is a visual representation of different data using conventions that describe how these data are related to each other.
2.) The two notations for ERD’s are Chen and Crow’s Foot.
3.) Entity is a rectangle; Noun. Attribute is a circle; Adjective/characteristic. Relationship is a triangle; Verb.
4.) Crow’s foot uses rectangles and lines. The rectangles have the entity at the top and the attributes underneath. It’s called crow’s foot because the lines can look like crow’s feet if needed; there are 3 different types of lines(relationships). 1:1= a one-to-one relationship. 1:m=a one-to-many relationship. m:m= a many-to-many relationship.
5.) Relationship; verb is written with an arrow. Entity listed at the top. Attributes listed underneath.
6.) Salesforce is a software company that provides customer relationship management software and applications that provides customer service, marketing automation, analytics, and application development.
7.) A Dynamic Dashboard is a type of data dashboard that updates automatically in real-time.
8.) The types of cardinality are one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many. They are used to describe the relationship between two entities or objects.
Week 4.
1.) A digital identity is the body of information about an individual, organization or electronic device that exists online. For example, photos you’ve posted to social media, certain online shopping information, search engine history, etc. What can you do to manage your identity? Don’t post anything that could potentially ruin your chances of getting a job or ruin your reputation entirely.
2.) It’s good to have a good digital identity because almost everything nowadays is electronic, so almost every job recruiter is going to search your name on the internet to see what they can find about you; which could be good or bad.
3.) The MIS community platform is a student professional development and learning management system that fundamentally transforms how students, alumni, faculty, staff, and industry partners interact.
4.) The purpose to building an e-portfolio is to provide an opportunity to reflect on yourself and your work.
Hey Luke, I saw that you gave an answer to every question that was posted in week three and week four! I appreciate the short summary you gave for what an ERD is as well as digital identity.
Hey Luke,
You accurately described every single question work weeks 3 & 4. I liked how you were brief yet described each answer well. The only thing I would add is that an e-portfolio is not just for yourself, but for your future employers as well. Instead of your future employers stalking your social media accounts to find out about who you really are, they can see your e-portfolio and see all the great things you accomplished.
