In a legacy system, each system has its own data so departments must rely on one another to share data. For example, in a legacy system, sales, accounting and warehouse departments would have to communicate with one another to share data. With an ERP, the data is available to all departments to eliminate multiple data systems and give access to all who need it. Other benefits of ERPs include flexibility, collaboration, and lower costs. Having one system makes processes simpler and more efficient for each department.
