Hello and welcome to MIS2402, section 001. I look forward to our first class together.
Many students ask me how they can best prepare for the course. I have some advice! Everyone should be doing the following before we first meet as a class.
- Download and install the course related software before the start of class. See the Setup Instructions posted under the Links section of this page.
- The semester will begin with an assignment that will require you to watch a substantial amount of material on LinkedIn Learning. There’s no reason that you can’t get a head start on that. In fact, I highly recommend you start it now. See the Reference-HTML-Essentials.pdf here or under the Links section of this page. (You do not need a LinkedIn account to watch the videos.)
- There is another document called Codepen links which has links to practice the items that you will be watching videos on. I strongly encourage everyone to do the practice as well.
- On the first day of class, I will take attendance, review the course (as it is documented on this site), and introduce some related material.
- There is a textbook for the class: JavaScript Absolute Beginner’s Guide by Kirupa Chinnathambi
