Welcome to MIS2402

Hello and welcome to MIS2402, section 002. I look forward to our first class together.

Many students ask me how they can best prepare for the course.  I have some advice!  

  1. Get the textbook for the class: JavaScript Absolute Beginner’s Guide by Kirupa Chinnathambi (2nd edition)  (I would order it from Amazon… either print or e-book format is acceptable or if you have it from MIS2101 still that’s great!)
  2. Download and install the course related software before the start of class.  
    1. PC Users: VS Code Setup
    2. Mac Users: VS Code Setup
  3. There is a required LinkedIn Learning for you to do with some associated ‘code along’ exercises.  There’s no reason that you can’t get a head start on that.  See Practical HTML for No-Coders by Ken Kramer.  You will need to log in with your Temple account.
  4. On the first day of class, I will take attendance, review the course (as it is documented on this site), and introduce some related material.
