Details regarding the class project will be discussed later in the semester. Students will be expected to work in teams of two (or, on rare occasion, three.) A student may choose her/his project partner. If a student does not choose a project partner, the instructor will assign one.
The project will be broken down into pieces, with class time allotted to work on the pieces. Students should expect to work on their project outside of class as well. As the course progresses, each deliverable of the project will build on the previous deliverable.
Your final project grade will be determined by an end-of-semester assessment of the project’s over-all quality.
In most circumstances, each team-member will receive the same grade. However, if the instructor believes that there was a serious inequity in the contributions of team members, a point penalty may be applied to an individual student’s grade. The point penalty may equal all or part of the individual student’s final project grade. The instructor has complete discretion in this matter.
