Figma Setup and Collaboration

Figma

We will use Figma for collaboration, wire-framing and prototyping.

  • Create your free student  Figma Education Account
  • Temple has a site license to lynda.com (now part of LinkedIn) which includes excellent step-by-step tutorials.
  • To access the tutorials, log into tuportal, select LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com) in the list of tuapplications.
  • Complete the Certificate Learning Course: Figma Essential Training.
      • Make sure you save your prototype (great for additional practice)

Enabling collaboration among team members

One team member creates the site. It does not matter who creates the site. Enable collaboration between your team as follows:

  1. Login and navigate to the “Share” button.
  2. Add your teammates, Professor Sclarow and our ITAs, Emily and Tucker, and select “can edit”
  3. Please add Professor Sclarow: sclarow@temple.edu, Emily: emily.ahn@temple.edu and Tucker: tucker.deluca@temple.edu

Creating the site

The site should at the minimum contain the following:

    • Appropriate name that reflects the intended affordance of the site.
    • The prototype should be a minimum of 12 frames.
    • Create a relevant logo that reflects the intended affordance of the site.

The above items are required for the alpha submission below and are intended to help you get started. As you progress to the final solution submission, you should adapt the design to meet the site goals.
