Balancing school and my internship has been challenging, but it’s taught me how important it is to manage my time intentionally. At the start of each week, I map out deadlines, meetings, and priorities so I always know what needs my attention first. I also break larger assignments into smaller tasks, which makes steady progress much easier. At work, I document what I learn and keep organized notes so I don’t waste time solving the same problem twice. I’ve found that consistency is far more effective than trying to cram everything into one day. My biggest advice – if I can give any – is to start early, stay organized, and ask questions whenever you’re stuck.
As someone who has been playing tennis my whole life while balancing studies, I would say I developed discipline and time management from a young age. Being a student-athlete at Temple requires a lot of hard work and dedication. I think staying organized and using a planner to write down your tasks makes it easier to manage everything and stay on top of things. In terms of the internship, I would say if you don’t understand a task make sure to ask questions and don’t be shy about it, because if you don’t know how to do it there is not going to be any progress and you’re going to get stuck.
