I am trying to install and configure a server in PowerShell. I haven’t found a tutorial that covers all the aspects of Tech Challenge 2. I have assembled several individual tutorials for AD DS, DHCP and DNS. I wanted to know how to effectively understand how to setup a static IP. I was given the example below.

    New-NetIPAddress -IPAddress 10.0.0.2 -InterfaceAlias “Ethernet” -DefaultGateway 10.0.0.1 -AddressFamily IPv4 -PrefixLength 24

In what class did you cover static IP’s? Are there any additional steps not covered in the Tech Challenge that I would need to do in order to complete the challenge in PowerShell?

      Hi Jason,

For the purposes of the challenges you do not need to use powershell. Please utilize the installation wizards in Server Manager to setup Active Directory on the server.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to setup AD using Server Manager: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/canitpro/2013/05/05/step-by-step-adding-a-windows-server-2012-domain-controller-to-an-existing-windows-server-2003-network/

      Hope this helps!

      Pat
