In my opinion, I feel as though an IT Auditor literally audits an organization’s IT structure and system to ensure that it is safeguarded with the proper software. This way when a cyber attack occurs, a recovery plan is in place, or a protective system can help block the threat from entering the organization. It is for this reason why IT Auditors are necessary because an organization that doesn’t have the proper systems in place to protect itself is vulnerable and susceptible to sensitive information being hacked into or stolen.

In my opinion, IT audit is a third party independent of the information system itself, information system-related development. IT auditors use standards to fully and effectively inspect and evaluate the activities and products that related to the planning, development, using and maintenance of information systems. The primary key for IT auditors is independence. They need using independence to audit information systems. The role of IT auditors is reducing risk, which means a small technical error can ripple through and affect the entire company. IT audits are important for evaluating internal controls in order to ensure that the organization and data are protected from external and internal threats.

I think IT auditors generally executive company IT system audit and supporting other general audits, such as financial audits, process audits, and providing IT support and data analysis. IT auditor also should analyze how organization, processes and IT systems work. IT auditor also should keep up IT trends and learn new acknowledge for emerging risk that impacts clients.

IT Auditors support the internal audit function within an organization. IT supports many aspects of an organizations business, and information must retain its confidentiality, integrity, and availability for it to function. As the digital world is always evolving, and many businesses and third parties are interconnected, it’s important for an IT Auditor to understand the risks associated with the IT in place, and they also must have the technical skills to make sure it’s working properly. There are many stakeholders in relation to a single organization’s IT Security. These stakeholders could be employees, customers, and even the general public. IT Auditors are needed to assure a strong framework is in place to protect these stakeholders, and make necessary recommendations when levels of security fall short. This involves implementing administrative, physical, and technical controls, in order to prevent and react to cyber attacks and the misuse of sensitive information.

IT Auditors review an organizations Information Technology systems, operations, controls, and strategy to ensure that all of those components are appropriately maintained to ensure that the organizations is adequately protecting all the information they have collected from employees, customers, suppliers and vendors is safe and accurate. They are necessary because modern IT systems are so large, complex, and evolve so quickly that any breakdown in one of the components puts the organization at risk and auditors are helping to avoid that risk. Their role within the organization can take on many forms but sould always be to question and analyze any information they get about the IT systems.

IT auditor maintain company system. They design a process to audit technology, to figure out what the vulnerable/weakness the system have, report to IT support and ask them to improve it. So IT auditor need to be detailed-oriented, and have basic technical knowledge. IT auditor is necessary because now cyber-security is a crucial topic in business area. In my opinion. IT Auditors are the one who set rules or check periodically for the IT System, whether they are internal auditors or external auditors. They are necessary because in most companies, people aim for profit first. They might not pay enough attention for the IT Security risks which may cost them more. IT Auditors are the guy who prevent or deal with those IT Security risks.

IT auditors are responsible for analyzing and evaluating the company’s technical infrastructure to ensure that processes and systems operate accurately and efficiently while maintaining security and compliance with regulatory requirements. IT auditing is important for assessing internal controls and processes with the ultimate goal of ensuring that the organization and its data are protected from external or internal threats. As a result, IT auditors play a critical role in an organization, where a small technical error or misstep can ripple through and affect the entire organization.

From my point of view, IT auditor is responsible for improving internal processes and performance, report problems of the infrastructure and applications, analyze data and increase internal controls. Because there is a demand that requires the professional person to identify, document, summarize and present audit findings to external and internal issues
