{"id":626,"date":"2021-05-04T17:31:19","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T21:31:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/mis5203sec001spring2021\/?p=626"},"modified":"2021-05-04T17:31:19","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T21:31:19","slug":"week-2-pm-5-phases-prince-patel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/community.mis.temple.edu\/mis5203sec001spring2021\/2021\/05\/04\/week-2-pm-5-phases-prince-patel\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 2 PM 5 Phases PRINCE PATEL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most projects have five phases:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Initiation:\u00a0<\/strong>Here is where you set out the\u00a0project scope, the goals, the organization of the project, its business case, its constraints, who the stakeholders are, what the risks are, the project controls, the reporting framework, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Planning:<\/strong>\u00a0This is where you build the roadmap to take you from Point A to Point B, which means creating a schedule of the tasks, deadlines and resources needed to complete everything on time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Execution:<\/strong>\u00a0The project begins and the project plan is put into action.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monitoring &amp; Controlling:<\/strong>\u00a0To make sure the project is proceeding as planned, you need to set up\u00a0mechanisms for monitoring progress.\u00a0If the project isn\u2019t proceeding as planned, work to control and resolve issues before they become problems.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Closing:<\/strong>\u00a0Projects are temporary endeavors, so they eventually come to an end and need to be\u00a0formally closed.
