Looks like Facebook’s answer to it’s hack that exposed millions of people’s information is to buy a cyber security company. Must be nice to be able to just throw money at a problem for it to go away! I wonder what other high profile company’s will use this tactic to battle their security issues that might come up in the future!

I guess this could work if it is executed properly. I find the whole thing kinda funny. This is like a car company buying a logistics company and expecting cohesion. Car companies know how to make cars, social media companies know how to be social. There might be a problem with having a ton a money but thinking you can buy anything is not one of them.
Hi Stev
It is an interesting information that you share with us. Facebook faces a challenge in data breach recently. It is important for them to deal with the problem by taking some actions. The data breach already caused many users lose their personal information, so Facebook start to spend money and time to have a way to deal with the data security problem, and solve its reputation. Buying a cyber security company could make them to take actions faster to deal with data breach problems in the future.
Hi Sev,
You are right they are just throwing money to make the problem go away and this wont lead to more questions like what improvements did the organization make to improve security? and so on. I think bigger firms are opting for this option as this is a good decision in terms of business.
Hi Sev,
I think this initiative is good for Facebook since it has experienced data breach many times. Buying a cybersecurity company might benefit Facebook through faster response and wider protection. Facebook is always regarded as big target by hackers, so it is time for Facebook to do something seriously to deal with its situation.
