It included search history, location data and information about relationships, religion and more. This information can be used by cyber criminals to create social engineering based theft programs on the 14 million affected users.<\/p>\n<p>Typically, companies affected by large data breaches \u2013 such as Target, in 2013 \u2013 provide access to credit protection agencies and other methods to lower the risk of identity theft. But a Facebook spokeswoman told the BBC it would not be taking this step \u201cat this time\u201d. Users would instead be directed to the website\u2019s help section.
