Kali.\u00a0 The latest version of Kali includes a new set of tools, improved virtualization support, and new OpenSSL configurations.\u00a0 These new additions may come in handy later in the course as we explore related topics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Highlights of this release include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Wide default compatibility for OpenSSL<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enables older, insecure protocols in OpenSSL to increase the attack surface for penetration testing.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>New Tools<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">HostHunter looks particularly interesting for hostname recon.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Improved VM support<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Live image can be used in a virtualized environment and supports copy, paste, and drag\/drop functionality natively.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Smartwatch support for Kali NetHunter\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This looks super cool and supports Bad USB and NMap scans.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;text-align: left\"><strong>Improved ARM support for devices like the Raspberry Pi.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Users can update by downloading the latest ISO at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cdimage.kali.org\/kali-2021.3\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">http:\/\/cdimage.kali.org\/kali-2021.3\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or follow the upgrade instructions detailed in the
