Welcome to MIS 5287-401, 402, Business Skills for the ITACS Professional

Hello, and welcome to Business Skills for the ITACS Professionals. I’m excited once again to be instructing this course and look forward to meeting all of you on Friday, September 7, 2018, in Temple’s downtown campus, 2 Penn Center, Philadelphia. Officially, that’s: TUCC (Temple University Center City) Room 610, 1515 Market Street. On September 7, we’ll be starting at 9:00 AM and ending no later than 5:00 PM. (Our regular start time is 8 AM.)

Be sure to check often into our class site at:

HERE ARE A FEW IMPORTANT ITEMS:

  1. Class will start between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. I will inform you all by email and on our class site for the start time for each class. Plan to stay all day; we will end no later than 5:00 PM (17:00). We will meet on three Fridays. Please check your section (401 or 402) for the dates of your class:
    401 will meet on Friday — September 7, October 5, and November 2.
    402 will meet on Friday — September 7, October 12, and November 9.
  2. Our required text for this course is Barone and Tellis, Your Voice Is Your Business (Plural Publishing) 2016. This book is available from Amazon at a discount. The electronic version is acceptable
  3. Check out the syllabus which has been emailed to you. Actually, you should read it carefully. It contains important information on course content, grading policy, and other matters relevant to class.
  4. Assignments to be done prior to September 7 are posted here. Be sure to have them completed. Read these items:
