A little background on me. I’ve lived in Philly for about 9 years now but I’m a Miami native. Love this city! I have been in a variety of industries throughout my professional career and have finally culminated in IT. I am currently an IT Risk Manager. I have a slew of projects I’m working on but primarily focused on SOX Audit and implementing a new SDLC methodology! Very excited to have my program apply to my current role.
My preferred name is Vanessa, which most of you already know me as.
Fun fact: My husband and I teach latin dance on the side! Anyone want a lesson? 🙂
I would totally take up your offer on the Latin dances but unfortunately, I have 0 hand-eye coordination haha. Dancing is definitely a fun and safe way to stay active during these times!
Your job role sounds interesting and it is a good feeling to have both school and work align. That is cool that you teach Latin dance! I like to do interpretive dance like Napoleon Dynamite!
Hello!
Vincent but you can call me Vinnie.
I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I decided to go back to school at 38 because I was sick of being a UPS driver. Going back to school was a realization of a dream that I did not have the mindset for at 18. I love spending time with my wife and two awesome children. Pre-pandemic, we loved to share fun and educational trips all over. One of our favorites is the Smithsonian Institution.
Fun fact about a family member:
My Uncle Jim was an inventor, NASA engineer and the Deputy Chief of the Crew Systems Division during the famous “Houston, we have a problem!” incident on the Apollo 13 mission. His team solved the issue of removing CO2 from the cabin to get the astronauts home safely.
It seems that we may be returning to a new normal very quickly; this evening I received an email that for those who are fully vaccinated, that we don’t have to wear masks unless required by the facility that we serve.
So, you might want to get your Charm Card ready, because public transit (subway) system is one of the easiest ways to get around DC, and so much cleaner than our Orange and Blue lines. And, for Philly folks, it’s not that hard to ride Amtrak to DC, and save the drive, and so much easier to get there, as I found when I attended an FS-ISAC conference in DC. Attendees got to tour the Newseum before it closed down.
Thanks, Bill!
I am interested in that. I am all for it; the train and public trans. Alas, they will probably want to be chauffeured around door to door. HAHA
Philly needs a major overhaul for tourism sake. It could be so much more.
The Newseum was interesting!

My name is Mei, pronounced like the month of May. I’m a Philadelphia native and grew up in Fishtown. I currently live near Center City and work at Radian Group as a Security Compliance Analyst. My educational background is in Management Information Systems; after completing my master’s, someday down the road I hope to pursue my Ph.D. as well.
For fun, I enjoy taking photos of nature, eating different kinds of food, and working out. Not so fun fact, I am absolutely terrible with directions and am always getting lost. Thankful for technology and GPS!
Welcome to the class, Mei! I was a little sad when the R1 through R8 names were converted to their endpoints. Heck, I think it was the R7 that went from Trenton to Philly, and I could have cared less about the west side of the city at the time, but now commuters have to know the suburb on the other side of the city if they want to find their way to the city.

Hi! I’m Amelia and most folks call me Amy. I currently work in tech support but am hoping to make a move into digital forensics or a red team role.
A fun fact about me is that I love gardening and grow as many fruits and veggies as possible during the spring and summer months.
