IT Internship – Medical Guardian

This summer I am interning with the IT team at Medical Guardian. This company sells medical alert devices that are designed to protect the elderly and contact help in case of an emergency. During this internship,I will learn about the IT department and everything that they deal with on a daily basis. I will also help with tech issues around the office such as issues with headsets, java and problems with other various software that is used in the different departments throughout the company. I will learn about the company’s active directory and how to setup and remove users from the system. I have been working with Excel and pivot tables to log information. I will also work with patch panels and the  physical wiring  of Ethernet cords. I have had a very valuable learning experience so far at Medical Guardian and when this internship is over I will have a much better understanding of the IT/MIS field and a better understanding of what specific part of IT that I would like to focus on in my studies.
