Related courses I have taken
Information Systems in Organizations
This was the first class I’ve taken in relation to the MIS program. I did not have any expectations going into the class because I have no idea what it was about. I learned what Information Systems is and how important the role is in relation to the evolution of technology. This class was the reason why I switched my major from finance to MIS.
I had to learn about databases, where I learned how to use MySQL, and dabbled a little into R. I also learned how important data analytics is in business, and how every company needs someone with knowledge in this area to grow.
Data-Centric Application Development
In this class I learned about HTML, CSS, and PHP in an IDE, specifically NetBeans. I learned about cookies and how to connect SQL databases with a website.
Digital Design and Innovation Studio
This class is learning about the role of a BA, and understanding how projects are made. My class worked with a client that needed help to make a couple of things. My group and I made an interface using JustInMind, a web development program, that allowed admins and users to use and interact with each other.
Application Integration and Evalutation
This class was a free elective. Here, I learned how to use Tableau and how to analyze and interpret data into useful information.
