Work Experience

PHL_logo1aI work currently as Bilingual Receptionists at Philadelphia International Airport. I serve as the primary contact to arriving international passengers in the Federal Inspection Areas, International Arrival Areas and at Passenger Assistance Counters. As receptionist, I also participate in various airport ceremonies, greets dignitaries, assists area press and performs related work as required. I have been working for little over a year now and I enjoy helping passengers with language barriers. This work has taught me to be good team worker and self-starter.

 

 

 

Welcome CenterThis past summer, I joined Welcoming Center as an intern to work with their bilingual small business outreach department in assisting immigrant business owners to succeed. I worked as part of a two-person team, walked commercial corridors in West and South Philadelphia build connections with immigrant and American-born business owners to collect primary data. During my internship, I learned to collect data from businesses by making phone calls and physically going of the field with survey intake form that my team has made. Moreover, I learned to input data collected into the company’s database system and was able to generate a full report about merchants on particular corridors that needed our help.

 

 

 

cropped-banner-layout-4For over 30 years, Nationalities Service Center has been providing translation and interpretation services to immigrants and refugees from all over the globe right here in Philadelphia. Working and volunteering with them have taught me the value of giving back to the society and helping people to clarify their legal statute in United States. I have learned to professional translate and interpret legal paper from French to English. Via NSC, I had the opportunity to work with big law firm and well known psychic in the Philadelphia area.

 

 

 

logocwfOver the past 11 years, the Campaign for Working Families has filed 129,747 tax returns. It has brought back $211 million dollars in refunds to Philadelphia families and saved families 24.6 million dollars in fees, interest and charges. For 3 years now I have been volunteering this non-profit organization and I enjoyed doing this because help people and learn while other. Working as tax preparer and resource builder for Campaign for Working Families, in short period of time have taught me to connect working families with all the tax credits for which they are eligible, often adding up to thousands of dollars. Help families build resources for financial stability by linking them to public benefits, resources and financial opportunities. Work one-on-one with families, using intake forms and computer software to electronically file high quality tax returns and to keep money in our customers’ pockets. Cross-train in intake, screening, quality review and the closeout process. Furthermore, utilize computer software to determine eligibility for public benefits, including food stamps, utility assistance, educational funding and free or low cost health insurance. Help families build assets by offering and opening fairly priced financial products and savings bonds.

 

 

 

CCP2In 2012, I worked as Computer Lab Consultant at Community College of Philadelphia. At the position, I provided technical assistance to faculty and students in computer lab with PC’s, printers, scanners, and other peripherals. I also repaired defective equipment and troubleshooted computers in the Lab. This work–study gave me an understanding on how solve computer problems and manage the computer lab and assist student with computer software
