HOBBIES & INTERESTS
Soccer. I spent many years of my life playing soccer. From the age of 4 to when I left for college in the city at 18 you could find me on the field. I played midfield as I was one of the few who loved running up and down the field assisting the offense and defense and had the energy to do so. Alex Morgan, Hope Solo, Abby Wambach and Ali Krieger are soccer idols for me and inspire me on and off the field.
Foreign Languages. I love learning new languages. Languages open you up to new cultures, ideas, and ways of life, and I love travelling to experience new things. Studying abroad in Rome is the greatest thing I have done so far in my life. I loved walking through the city without a plan and just wandered around seeing everything I could. So far I have studied French, Spanish and a little bit of Mandarin. I would like to one day be highly proficient at the least in each language.
Reading. I’m an avid reader of fictional books. I love fantastical and science fictional worlds and reading all of the additional lore authors put out there. My all time favorite book series are Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Lord of the Rings. Throughout elementary school and middle school I was involved in Reading Olympics.
Television & Film. I love watching television shows and movies. I am dubbed the movie mavon in my family. I am a true geek and can talk hours about my favorite shows and movies. I absolutely love the Marvel Cinematic Universe that began with Iron Man, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and so many more movies. My favorite shows are Game of Thrones, Flash, Agents of Shield, Jessica Jones, Firefly and as you can assume, many, many more.
Gaming. I love games of all varieties from video games to tabletop games. I grew up playing Pokemon, Mario, Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros and my family would have board game nights which was the beginning of my passion for games.
Shotokan Karate. I have been doing Shotokan karate since I was 5 years old and in 2005 I achieved my Black Belt. In the organization I am a volunteer youth coach and referee as well as a member of the Lower Bucks County Karate Club. I help teach kids self defense in Shotokan Karate martial arts as well as refereed in annual club tournaments. Our goals are to teach kids confidence, discipline, and respect along with having fun.
