The Newsence Project was developed by four students in the Fox School of Business studying Management Information Systems. With their combined program experience as well as understanding of the global news environment, each felt that it was essential to change the methods of news delivery. Given the growth of electronic news delivery, any author can post a story and submit it to the web. Through vast sharing and “liking” on social media, a story that represents some, if not all, false facts and stories can quickly be shared and passed as a real event, thus impacting people’s perceptions of the news and the world around them and creating biases that should not exist.
