AmerisourceBergen is a global network of businesses that specialize in pharmaceutical distribution and consulting. As of 2018, AmerisourceBergen is ranked #12 on the Fortune 500 list, averaging about $150 billion in annual revenue. The company is headquartered in Chesterbrook, PA and has over 140 locations in more than 50 countries.

The AmerisourceBergen internship program received over 2,500 applications to fill 61 positions. As an intern, I had the opportunity to work with the Continuous Improvement & Process Governance team within the company’s Enterprise IT Services department.

My responsibilities included:

• Worked with solution owners to transfer CSI records from one system to another and created the training material for the new system
• Visualized survey data by creating a customer journey map for an internal company site that will be used by the Marketing team to create their FY19 goals for the site
• Created a survey using SurveyMonkey, which was completed by over 1,000 employees across 4 locations, to determine problems associated with reserving and utilizing conference rooms
• Documented and analyzed unfamiliar processes using Visio with the purpose of eliminating inefficiencies
• Led associates at the South Carolina location through continuous improvement tools during team workshops and Lean Six Sigma White Belt classes
• Conducted process owner interviews with individuals from all management levels and developed a working relationship with them to determine the level of ITIL best practices being utilized

Location: Fort Washington, PA

Red Orange is a small federal contractor that specializes in supply chain and logistics. The company is primarily located in the Philadelphia area and India.

My responsibilities included:

• Implemented a new CPQ system to increase sales productivity
• Trained approximately 20 employees in Dubai and India via video conferencing to use new quoting system
• Redesigned the company website using WordPress, resulting in increased interest in the company and ultimately a $1 million private investment
• Initiated and achieved the company-wide use of Slack to improve employee communication across three continents
• Created and maintained company social media pages on LinkedIn and Twitter
