Lifeguard for Manheim Township Parks and Recreation
From 2008-2012, I was a lifeguard for Manheim Township Parks and Recreation. I was hired into a team of lifeguards, and it was our job to maintain a safe environment for our patrons to enjoy their summer days at our pools. In order to be hired, I first had to be trained as a certified lifeguard. This was a 4 weekend long period where I became certified in CPR, first aid, AED and emergency oxygen delivery, and life-guarding skills. In 2013, I became a head lifeguard. This position required me to oversee the lifeguard staff and continue to maintain a safe family environment. I gained new skills, such as customer awareness. It was my duty to inform patrons of safety hazards, and to help prevent any harm or injury to patrons. I also gained money management skills. At the beginning of each day I had to make sure the pool office and snack bar were supplied with the proper amount of bills and change, and at the end of each day I had to make sure all the money was put back into the safe. Since working as a life guard and head lifeguard for Manheim Township Parks and Recreation I have gained many valuable skills that I can bring into a business environment.
