shrmTemple University Society for Human Resource Management

I am currently a member of Temple University’s Society for Human Resource Management which provides students with the opportunity to gain exposure to different careers within the Human Resource Management industry. The organization also offers networking opportunities through guest speakers and holding special events with our local affiliate, Philadelphia SHRM.  Temple SHRM has won the Superior Merit Award from National SHRM for several years now and has also been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Chapters” by National SHRM. The organization is devoted to human resource management and providing the most essential and comprehensive set of resources available to its members. Joining Temple SHRM is the first step of my path to obtain a position in the Human Resource Management industry.

bandTemple University Diamond Marching Band

Temple’s Marching Band is considered “the pride of the cherry and white” at Temple University. It currently has 225 members and I am a member of the color guard section. The Temple University Band program has grown since its beginnings in 1925 to its present peak.  The band performs at every home football game and many other university events throughout the academic year. Members must audition for placement in the group, which meets for two-hour rehearsals three times a week during the Fall semester. Recent accomplishments and recognition of the band include: invitation to perform in the 2014 New Year’s Day Parade in London, Good Morning America performance, featured in Rolling Stone magazine’s online list of the top “10 Mind-Blowing College Marching Band Cover Songs,” and featured on Fall Out Boy’s website.
