The Bookmor Corporation

Inventory & Warehouse Manager

While at CCC, I was hired as the inventory manager for a book warehouse; I oversaw more than 600 titles of textbooks and novels with over 50 thousand books under my control.   Listed on Amazon, eBay, and a handful of other sites, I managed a team of four people who process, pack, and ship around 500 incoming and outgoing shipments per day.  When I started this role, there were only around 8,000 total items and 50 daily outgoing shipments, when I left there were over 75,000 tallied items in the inventory system.  From daily correspondence with foreign vendors to filing customs documents to ordering supplies, I ran the day-to-day procedures that allow the business to function effortlessly.  I implemented new procedures to streamline operations and simplify the tasks for my employees.  My main function, however, was to provide an accurate count of current items on hand. Whether decrementing the daily manifests and international bulk shipments to adding returns and inbound stock, I utilized various functions and pivot tables in Microsoft Excel to precisely provide a portrayal of my stock.  I then used these so-called databases to generate inventory management reports and identify key metrics of operations.  I was later asked to take on a more significant role with the company- preparing billing statements sent to vendors.  Encompassing various activities completed in the past month, these statements are vital to the business as the very lifeline of cashflow.  An inaccurate count or mismanaged statement would result in dire consequences.  The ideas I implemented allowed me to complete this task quickly and accurately.
