Data Analyst Intern
- In this role, I worked as a Data Analyst Intern on the Genentech team at CMI Media Group. During the internship, I completed RFP File Requests, Buy File Requests, and optimized R code used for company processes. Additionally, I completed 3 LinkedIn learning courses and 1 Microsoft Azure course during my internship.
- During the internship, I was assigned a summer-long project to improve the existing R code used to automate company processes. I worked alongside senior data analysts to learn the code, and offered advice on how to improve the code by introducing new R packages that would replace previously used Tableau processes.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this experience in the context of specific courses) While working in this position, I learned what a data analyst does on a daily basis. MIS 2502 greatly improved my experience in this position as I had previous knowledge using data analysis software. Addionally, I learned how important teamwork is in a business setting, and the overall coursework in the Fox School prepared me for that aspect.
