Work Experience

I currently intern at Chubb Limited within the Global HR Operations department. My main duties consist of assisting full time staff using PeopleSoft, ADP, and Microsoft Excel. PeopleSoft and ADP are human resource software that store the data of employees including payroll, job, reporting, and personal information. Using PeopleSoft and ADP I update and query the aforementioned information on employees around the globe. Using Excel I create reports for full time staff by pulling data from queries and using lookup functions to pull data from worksheets of up to 60,000+ in order to find the data requested by full time staff.

During the summer of 2015 I worked as the “Software Specialist” intern in the Advancement Department of Arcadia University. The Advancement Department’s goal is to raise funds for the University as a whole as well as raising funds for specific projects or scholarships. I primarily worked with Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Excel software. Raiser’s Edge is back-end database and reporting software designed for fund raising within non-profit organizations. The software allows users to create a database of their constituent’s information and use tools to manage events, constituents, and gifts. My primary work in Raiser’s Edge consisted of querying the Advancement Department’s database to analyze and report alumni and gift data. I created queries based off of information requested by full time employees and would analyze then create a report of the data either within Raiser’s Edge or export the information to a third party software, primarily Excel. The work I performed in Excel consisted of using VLOOKUP and pivot tables to add information to and analyze spreadsheets of up to 30,000+ constituents. My regular duties within the office consisted of querying and analyzing constituent data, as well as turning this data into reports for full time employees. I also trained the employees to use or better use the software, which consisted of teaching them or improving their abilities to perform queries and create reports. During my internship I also completed projects for the Vice President of Advancement. These projects consisted of creating reports regarding alumni income and annual giving and were used by the VP for presentations to the Board of Trustees and President. I created reports on alumni income by working with student workers to research the average annual income of every major offered by the university. I then took a list I created of all 30,000+ living alumni of the University and referenced it to the previous list using VLOOKUP. After this was completed I separated the alumni into colleges and created a report stating the average income of each school within the University. I then presented my findings to the VP for approval.
