As a dental assistant, my responsibilities mainly included working alongside dentists, maintaining the cleanliness of treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting the office manager with the data entry of patient records. Working for a practice consisting of 2 dentists and 1 oral hygienist allowed me to expose myself to numerous types of dental procedures in the areas of family dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. In the office, I also had the responsibilities of updating patient records, making appropriate billing adjustments, filing insurance claims, and managing the schedule of patient appointments.
