MIS 2101 Information Systems in Organizations

In this course, I’ve learned about the importance of information systems in an organization.  To understand how company processes useful data and how it manages its operations, we must understand all aspects of the business, such as communication systems, operations management, decision making, and record keeping. This course prepared me to be a business enabler that can help company managed its information properly.

 

MIS 2501 Enterprise IT Architecture

For this course, I’ve learned to play a role as an Enterprise architect that assess information technology in an organization. The role also included identifying management issues, security, cloud computing, and new technology in order to create business value to the organization. This course gave me the knowledge to ensure that the business and information technology function are aligned.

 

MIS 2502 Data Analytics

As part of the course project, I’ve learned how to read the raw data and analyze it in order to reveal meaningful information to help an organization.  This course is one of my favorites because I’m interested in becoming a data analyst.  It gave me the knowledge to managed database system using SQL.

 

MIS 3501 Data-Centric Application Development

For this course, I’ve learned to build a webpage using a little bit of everything such as HTML, SQL, CSS, and more.  This course can help me prepared for a junior web developer job.

 

MIS 3502 Application Integration & Evaluation

In this course, we dig down further from MIS 3501.  I’ve learned to use the existing applications to produce new capabilities and as well as identify issues and solve it.  It gave me the skills to probably assist a more experienced web developer to identify issues or complete tasks.

 

MIS 3506 Digital Solutions Studio

As part of the class project and as a team, I’ve learned to work with stakeholders and identify the objectives, requirements, and goals to deliver a prototype product that potentially solved the problem.  This course prepared to become a business analyst who’s job is to analyze the company’s problems, documents it processes, and solve business problems with technology solutions.
