Volunteer/ ACCT Adoptions
The goal was to help find, care for, and help place abandoned animals in new homes. I helped with transporting animals, working adoption events, fostering, maintaining the shelter, or providing care to the animals. I used technology to help find potential lost pets–posting in different forums. I helped sort through, screen, and do background research of potential adopters. I also managed the adoption site, posting profiles for pets eligible for adoption.The result was the animals were well taken care of and I was able to help more than 10 animals get adopted. I learned what happens to homeless animals and the inner-workings of a no kill shelter. I also learned how technology is used to find homes for homeless animals.
