In this highly interactive workshop, you will have an opportunity to learn about and experience today’s leading Virtual Reality (Oculus Riff and HTC Vive), Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality (Microsoft HoloLens) technologies. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of each, as well as potential use-cases that can achieve real business results.
Using a real-life case study, we will break down the process of designing for virtual reality, from analysis through implementation. We’ll cover:
- How to identify if VR is the right learning solution
- Instructional design strategies for virtual environments
- Storyboarding for VR
- UI/UX design and how to create an inspiring experience
In this one-day marathon of creative problem solving, participants will join Occupational Therapists, Adaptive Tech Professionals, and technical experts to help solve real-world problems encountered by disabled residents of Inglis House.
No experience is necessary; you need only bring your creativity and can-do attitude. If you have experience with coding, fabrication, or accessibility design, that’s a huge bonus, and we need your help!
Come prepared for a full day of challenging fun and prototyping! NextFab is a workshop, so appropriate attire is required – long pants and closed-toe shoes. We will provide basic instruction on use safe use of the tools, and hands-on technical help from engineers, expert fabricators, and adaptive tech professionals.
