Earn PRO points for internships that provide valuable work experience. Major specific paid internships directly relate to your major and course work (not help desk related).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Full-time major-specific
\ninternship<\/td>\n		Highly recommended for all students. Typically a summer internship working for an organization on tasks that relate to your major. This is the best way to prepare for the workplace and improve career prospects.<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Short-term full-time major-specific
\ninternship<\/td>\n		Typically a shorter internship in the summer working for an organization on tasks that relate to your major.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Part-time major-specific
\ninternship<\/td>\n		Typically a part-time job during the academic term working for an organization on tasks that relate to your major.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Major-specific work experience
\non campus<\/td>\n		Typically an on-campus job working for a department or program on tasks that relate to your major.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Part-time non-major professional work experience<\/td>\nA professional job that encompasses transferable skills like communication, customer relationship management, and database usage.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
MIS Department Worker and Information Technology Assistant<\/td>\nOn-campus job working for the MIS department as an ITA or at the front desk.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
MIS Diamond Peer Teacher<\/td>\nOn-campus job working for the MIS department a Diamond Peer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Knack MIS Course Tutor<\/td>\nParticipate as a tutor on the Knack platform for MIS courses. Points will be awarded based on your semester end stats from Knack.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Requirements<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. You can only earn PRO points once for a single internship at a single organization, i.e., multiple internships at the same organization cannot be stacked even if they are of a different type.<\/li>\n
  2. Please check points table on limits for each activity.<\/li>\n
  3. Points can only be requested after you have completed the internship\/work experience or completed the specified time period, i.e., if you are claiming a 10 week internship or non-major work experience, then you can only request points after the 10 weeks are complete.<\/li>\n
  4. You can only earn PRO points for one semester of ITA work.<\/li>\n
  5. You can only earn PRO points for one semester of\u00a0 Diamond Peer work.<\/li>\n
  6. For minimum time periods, point values, and other requirements, review the points table<\/a>.
    \n<\/em><\/li>\n
  7. If you are a dual major and completing a full time major-specific internship in either of your concentrations please submit for the full time major specific internship and note in the comments that you are a dual major in MIS and XXX.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    To request PRO points for an internship you will need:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Official job title (e.g., Analyst)<\/li>\n
    2. Name of the organization where you worked (e.g., Pfizer)<\/li>\n
    3. Job date: The term in which the work experience was completed.<\/li>\n
    4. Job description paragraph (all four items below are required).\n
        \n
      1. Information about the organization (e.g., type, size, location, specific division\/department in which you are employed)<\/li>\n
      2. Job function (e.g., overall role, assigned tasks)<\/li>\n
      3. Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished)<\/li>\n
      4. What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this internship in the context of specific courses).
        \nNote: once approved, the job description is automatically displayed in a post on your portfolio.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
      5. Supporting documentation: A PDF file that includes (a) the offer letter on official letterhead AND (b) an email\/letter of completion (letter should be signed and include the supervisor’s company email) from your supervisor at the organization confirming the dates that were worked and responsibilities.<\/strong> The offer letter and letter from supervisor must include job title, term of the position, and the responsible person\u2019s title and company email.
