Fox CSPD/CST Virtual Spring 2023 Job Fair
I had a 1:1 virtual meeting with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The representative I spoke with is a senior in Human Resources. Seeing that I had a 1:1 it was designed for me to ask questions, which I really appreciated. As an MIS major, I told him that my interests were in Consulting as well as User Experience Design. He shared some potential career parts with me, with regard to being a consultant within the company. I specified technology consulting and he shared that those decisions are mostly made on the senior level. He broadened the spectrum and mentioned that there is opportunity for growth where consulting is concerned. He shared that his background was in the public sector and now is a Senior that gets to sit at the table and make suggestions and recommendations for the organization and how they plan to keep moving forward. I have learned that even though you may start an entry-level job not being exactly where you want to be it is important to find out if there are opportunities for growth to at least eventually get where you would like to be. Seeing that the call was very brief he sent me the link to their website as well as USAjobs where I can further explore my options.
