Academics and Awards
Beginner level of Mandarin Chinese – I took Mandarin for two years and was able to pass a test certifying myself as being capable of speaking a beginner level of Mandarin Chinese. I learned key basic introductory phrases and simple conversations that could be used in business or small personal interations.
Rotary Youth Leadership Award – This award was given to me for outstanding leadership within my hometown community. I received an opportunity to attend workshops focusing on leadership skills, and to accept an award on behalf of the leadership that I provided for my high school. I was the only one from my community that was asked to attend and while away I was presented this award and presented with the opportunity of meeting other leaders from many other schools.
Making Us Better Award – This award was presented to me for benefiting my high school upon graduation. I was selected by the principle of my high school to receive this award for my volunteer work and leadership in my community.
