What you learned:
In this webinar, I learned about the growing trend of companies moving to the cloud, as well as virtualization their companies. AppDynamics offers a service for supplementing AWS for companies transitioning to the cloud. They offer dashboards, status reports, monitoring, and consulting for transitioning companies. This was my first time hearing about supplemental tools to help make AWS use easier. I learned about hybrid cloud management, which is a popular method for companies who do not have previous experience with AWS. AppDynamics is a hybrid cloud management service for these types of companies.
How the activity relates to coursework or your career goals:
This webinar directly correlates with my Enterprise IT Architecture course. I received the invitation to attend because of my activity on Amazon Web Services for this class. However, this was my first experience with hybrid cloud management. After learning how common the services of companies like AppDynamics are, I can envision how I can leverage my technical skills and my business skills to help explain tools like this to non-technical people in my future career. It is inevitable that I will encounter virtualization of companies, since this is my future career path, and this webinar helped me visualize the link I will have to make for others in my career.
