Society for Human Resource Management
In the fall of 2014, I joined the Society for Human Resource Management. It it’s the world’s largest association devoted to Human Resources. SHRM is committed to advancing Human Resources to make sure that it is a valuable need in the workplace. Once I joined the organization, the officers welcomed me and from that point I knew that this is going to be a very exciting year for me with the SHRM organization. Since joining the organization at the beginning of September, I have learned so much information about the Human Resources environment from HR faculties, students’ testimonials, and guest speakers. Currently, I serve as the IT Director for the organization. Some of my responsibilities include: updating and maintaining TUSHRM’s website (tushrm.org), assist with Twitter updates, improve the”Members Only” page in TUSHRM.ORG to make it more attractive to paying members, and serve as a member of the E-Portfolio Committee within the HRM Department (a committee that assist HRM students in creating their E-Portfolio).
Esencia Latina (Latin Essence) Dance Organization
In the fall of 2014, I became a member of the first and only Hispanic dance club within the Temple University community. Esencia Latina strives to provide students of Temple University with the opportunity to explore, educate, and experience the Hispanic culture through the art form of dance. Through performances, workshops, and a variety of cultural events, we display our passion for dance and the Hispanic heritage to Temple University and the surrounding community. I currently served as the Advertising Chair for the organization. Some of my responsibilities include: Maintaining and updating Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and our YouTube Channel, and creating flyers and advertising our performances.
