Interests and Activities
Being an MIS major technology is big interest of mine. I love to work with technology and learn new ways of using it. In working at my current job I get a lot of hands on experience in working on computers. In the world that we live in today it is especially important to learn of new ways we can leverage technology in the business world. In my free time I try to stay current with the latest technology advances that will not only benefit me now but in the years to come when I have graduated.
Sports are also a big part of my life. Since a very young age I have been invested in Philadelphia sports. While I am a fan of all four main Philadelphia major sports Hockey, Baseball, and Football are the ones I pay the most attention to. While I love watching sports and following my teams closely I also enjoy playing them for recreation. The passion I have developed and the competitive nature of being a sports fan translate into the work environment as it makes me more determined and helps me to realize my goals.
Outside of sports and school I am involved in a couple of organizations. Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity is the first organization that I decided to join after transferring here to Temple University. This organization holds members to a minimum GPA requirement as well as a set of volunteer hours per semester you have to commit to. Phi Sigma Pi is based upon a tripod of ideals, Scholarship, Fellowship, and Leadership, and every member has to exemplify these ideals in their daily lives.
I am also a member of the Association of Information Systems on campus. AIS is the student professional organization for anyone interested in MIS. It is a great resource to develop and practice social and professional skills and also contribute with community service related to technology. With workshops every week there is always information I am learning and skills I am sharpening through this organization.
