Community Service

Here are some of the different causes that I’ve been apart of over the years where I have given back to the community:

  • Student Government (North Pocono High School)
    • As the President of student government my senior year of high school, we fundraised in record numbers. We ran a huge canned food drive for Thanksgiving to provide food for less fortunate families in our community for their holiday. That same season, we ran a clothing/coat drive to provide less fortunate students in our community with the proper clothing to stay warm in the dead of winter. On top of that, the student government runs an annual santa stocking project where classrooms receive details of students in families that need help providing presents for the kids to open on Christmas morning. These are just examples of the great things that North Pocono High School does to give back to the community.
  • The Boy Scouts of America
    • The Boy Scouts heavily emphasize the importance of service to others around you. I have participated in many different causes like community breakfasts, food drives, fundraisers, and others.
    • Upon obtaining my Eagle Scout, I planned, organized, and executed out a detailed plan to renovate the posts around the cemetery outside of the Maple Lake United Methodist Church in Springbrook, PA. We had to dig up the 10 ft long posts, (6ft under the ground surface) and readjust the posts that had been tilted over time by snow plows and erosion. After digging up the posts, we repainted them and planted them back in the ground straight. The process took 8 people over the span of 10 hours of physical labor. The planning, approval, and paperwork process took over 30 hours. All in all, the posts came out beautiful and the cemetery hasn’t looked better!
