Intern, Trade and Customs Global Trade Technology
As a Trade & Customs Global Trade Technology Intern at KPMG, I supported global trade technology projects that helped clients modernize and streamline their trade and customs operations. I worked extensively with SAP Global Trade Services (SAP GTS), supporting the implementation and integration of the platform for a major medical industry client. I helped facilitate client and internal meetings, documented meeting discussions and action items, and supported the implementation process to help align SAP GTS with the client’s business and trade compliance requirements.
In addition to client-facing project work, I contributed to the development of AI-powered internal tools designed to improve KPMG’s efficiency and automation capabilities. I helped with the development of a Python-based AI Mill Certificate Reader designed to extract and analyze information from steel certificates, helping automate a previously manual process. I also created an AI-powered timesheet tool designed to streamline time-entry processes and support the company’s internal operations, with the tool intended for future use by KPMG teams.
Through this role, I gained hands-on experience across SAP GTS, Python, artificial intelligence, business process automation, global trade compliance, client implementation, and project management. I worked directly with experienced KPMG professionals and client stakeholders, gaining exposure to how enterprise technology solutions are designed and implemented to solve complex business and regulatory challenges.
