Marshall Dennehey is a civil defense litigation law firm that was founded in 1962. The headquarters is located in Philadelphia at 2000 Market Street. It has over 500 attorneys and over 20 offices in New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, New Jersey, and Ohio. I served as a Data Quality Analyst Intern on the Applications Team in the IT Department. The project that I was assigned to was to consolidate the contacts database. I used BEC CoreRelate a software that law firms use for their legal systems and database management. I then would document the changes I made and insert the data into Excel for management. I learned how to consolidate a database that had enormous amounts of invalid data. This relates to the MIS Program because I worked on a database with raw data and extracted the value out of the data. Courses such as Data Analytics, Enterprise IT, and Data Science made it very easy to relate to what I was working with. I accepted the internship as a temporary three month summer internship originally, but at the end of the summer I was granted an extension to work over the winter break, available days, and following summer.
