My Experience
Junior Intern, ReminderMedia, I am currently working as an intern for ReminderMedia, a company that creates repeat and referral business for clients. I have only been with the company for a little more than a month and one of my main duties is to support the Sales team by updating the CRM system with key information on current and potential clients. I also create Swim Lane diagrams of company procedures that are used as references for navigating the CRM queues and performing CRM activities. On a weekly basis, I attend presentations held by top executives of ReminderMedia and lead meetings on research topics for fellow interns and select managers.
Valet Attendant, Towne Park, I worked at Towne Park, a customer service company located in Philadelphia, for a year and a half. My job was to provide valet parking service for hotel guests/customers. I mainly worked at the Embassy Suites in Philadelphia but I occasionally worked at the Four Seasons Hotel as well. I was responsible for assisting guests with the process of checking their car in and out of the hotel valet system. My duties also included assisting guests with bringing their bags to their rooms and providing concierge services. I was promoted to the company’s equivalent of a shift manager within three months of working with the company. My new responsibilities included managing the valet ramp and insuring all paperwork was properly filed.
Food Runner, Table 31, I worked at Table 31, an Italian steakhouse in Philadelphia, for six months. My duties included taking the food to the tables and making sure the tables were set properly. In less than two months I was promoted to Expediter. I was in charge of making sure the dishes were prepared properly and the appearance of the food was correct. I also was in charge of insuring that each food order was completed correctly and on time before it was sent out to the customers.
Cashier, Wal-Mart, I was employed at Wal-Mart for nine months. For three months I was working at Wal-Mart and Table 31 at the same time. My duties were to handle all monetary transactions and to assist the store in any way possible. Sometimes I would assist in stocking shelves or helping the returns department. Occasionally I would work at the customer service counter where I dealt with damaged products, customer complaints, and returned products. The store, located in Dickson City, PA, is one of the leading retail stores in Pennsylvania and I would have to interact with 60-80 customers on a normal day.
