Being involved with AIS has been invaluable to me as an MIS student. I have learned so much from the industry speakers as well as the professional development workshops. I am able to learn about different internship opportunities, well-known and startup companies, and experiences that my peers have had along with pieces of advice for students like me. AIS is so important to create a community among MIS majors in a field that can be stressful and difficult at times. It has exposed me to professional opportunities that I wouldn’t have gotten from simply attending my required courses and the events have helped me network with professionals, students, and faculty members that I would never have known otherwise!
