Employee Benefits Intern
The company that brought me on as an intern was Brown and Brown Insurance, which is an insurance brokerage. They act as the middle-man between the insurance carriers and the costumers. The role that I had within the company was called Employee Benefits, as there are two sides to risk management and insurance. Employee Benefits deals with employee benefits, while property and casualty deals with property insurance. During my time at the company I learned a lot throughout different departments there. Including doing things like enrollments, working with a CRM system to clean and filter out messy data, and work with the account management team as well. On the CRM, I was also conducting audits to make sure the insurance plans were correct and complete. The internship started in the middle of January 2024, and ended as of 4/10/2024.
