Front End Developer Intern

During Summer 2024, I was offered the opportunity to work at a start-up tech company called iQuadra Information Services. This company has two locations, one in Marietta, Georgia, and the other in Nellore, India. iQuadra as a whole is made up off 200-500 employees between both offices. The intern team was specified to work with the India team because the product was being built there. The intern team was split between front and back-end developers. I was offered the opportunity to work as a front-end developer throughout the duration of my internship. My job functions consisted of learning React JS, React Redux, and Bootstrap which were used for the BugSprint project. The intern team’s task was to create a BugSprint (bug reporting website) website where users using iQuizUAnswer (AI interviewing platform for job seekers and employers) could report problems they encountered while using the interviewing platform. The main project I worked on was BugSprint. While building BugSprint, I was able to assist in creating a functional bug reporting website that could be used for the company’s main product, iQuizUAnswer. I was able to recreate Figma designs given by our developer lead using React JS. Redux and Bootstrap helped simplify the creation and design process of these webpages. After the creation of the webpages, we communicated with the back-end team allowing for integration. A course that helped prepare me for this position was MIS 2402: Web Application Development. In this course, I learned the basics of JavaScript and how to fetch data from API calls. Learning the basics of JavaScript helped me gain a fast grasp on React because it is a JavaScript library. Another course I took that I found useful for this internship was MIS 2502: Data and Analytics. The knowledge I gained about Python, SQL Workbench, and queries while taking this course allowed me to understand how the back-end team was retrieving this data. I plan on progressing my career in the direction towards Data Analytics or IT consulting services. This internship provided me with knowledge from both these fields while being code heavy.
